30 Plus Size Sweater Outfit Ideas for Women

A good sweater does more for a plus-size wardrobe than almost any other single piece. It warms, it covers, it softens a sharp outfit, and when the cut is right it gives the whole silhouette a shape instead of hiding it. The thirty looks below cover every kind of knit there is — oversized and cropped, cable and ribbed, sweater dresses and sweater vests, cardigans worn as layers and blazers made of knit — each one finished with the shoes, bag and jewellery that belong with it. For more plus-size outfit ideas beyond sweaters, our plus size dress outfit ideas cover thirty-five dresses for every occasion.

Before anything else, fit decides whether a sweater flatters or swamps. Knit sizing shifts a lot from one maker to another, so the label matters less than four quick checks in a mirror: where the shoulder seam sits, how the knit falls over the bust, where the hem lands, and whether the sleeves end at the wrist without pulling. Fine knits tuck neatly and slide under coats without adding bulk. A heavy knit, by contrast, brings real width with it, so it leads the outfit while everything else stays plain and narrow.

1. Oversized sweater with skinny jeans outfit

A cream oversized chunky sweater, dark skinny jeans, black ankle boots and a black crossbody, on a city street. The knit is roomy and soft, the jeans are dark and close-fitting, and the whole outfit balances volume on top with a narrow line below.

Slim dark jeans with a high rise hold the leg. A front tuck of just a few inches keeps the hip line visible. When the knit runs past mid-thigh, drop a size rather than fighting the extra fabric. Dark pointed boots ground the outfit, in black or taupe. Carry a neutral crossbody. Small hoops are the only jewellery.

2. Turtleneck sweater with wide leg pants outfit

A camel ribbed turtleneck, wide-leg trousers in the same tan family, a brown top-handle bag and brown loafers, photographed indoors. The two pieces are close in tone, so the eye travels up and down instead of across.

Thin yarn is the secret here: a fine-gauge ribbed turtleneck tucks fully without leaving a ridge at the waistband. Cream or camel on top, wide-leg trousers in a matching shade below, makes one long tonal column. Ask the tailor to end the trousers at the top of the shoe. Block-heel mules or leather loafers go on the feet, a slim belt sits at the waist, and a top-handle bag completes an office-ready look.

3. Cable knit sweater with leggings outfit

A cream cable-knit sweater and a pom-pom beanie, black leggings, brown knee-high boots and a canvas tote, on a lakeside path outdoors.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A cream cable-knit sweater and a pom-pom beanie, black leggings, brown knee-high boots and a canvas tote, on a lakeside path outdoors. The knit is thick and textured, the leggings are plain black, and the boots give the outfit weight at the bottom.

Check the seat coverage in a side-view mirror before you leave the house. The knit needs to drop past the hips. Underneath, solid black fleece-lined leggings become the base layer. Riding boots ground the outfit. Lug-sole Chelsea boots work just as well. A wool beanie and a canvas tote suit orchard trips and slow errands, while the rest stays plain — cable knits already bring plenty of bulk.

4. Chunky knit sweater dress with boots outfit

A beige knit sweater dress with a brown belt, a camel coat over it, dark tights and brown knee-high boots, in a mirror selfie indoors.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A beige knit sweater dress with a brown belt, a camel coat over it, dark tights and brown knee-high boots, in a mirror selfie indoors. One dress, one coat, one belt — the whole outfit is three pieces.

Without a belt, a chunky sweater dress hangs straight from the bust. A wide leather belt changes that, especially in oatmeal or charcoal, with the hem ending just below the knee and the knit skimming rather than clinging. Tall chocolate boots disappear beneath the sweater dress hem. Opaque tights close the gap between hem and boot. The coat is long, camel, and wool-blend. A small crossbody carries the essentials. Try the belt sitting down, too. Heavy knit creeps up over the hip when seated.

5. Cropped sweater with high waisted jeans outfit

A black cropped sweater, light-wash high-rise jeans, white sneakers and a black mini backpack, at a flower market.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A black cropped sweater, light-wash high-rise jeans, white sneakers and a black mini backpack, at a flower market. The crop is boxy, the denim is rigid, and the tiny gap at the waist reads as a defined line.

The crop is boxy and ends at the natural waist. Rigid high-rise denim, straight or wide, goes underneath. Stiff fabric holds its own shape. The small waistband gap then shows definition, not skin. Skip stretchy denim here. It folds over at the top under the sweater’s weight. White sneakers or flat platforms set a casual mood. Layered gold chains and a mini backpack are the extras.

6. Cardigan sweater with midi dress outfit

A cream longline cardigan over a rust ribbed midi dress, a tan crossbody and taupe suede ankle boots, on a café patio. Two clear tones and two different lengths stretch the body out more than a short cardigan ever would.

Summer dresses last into October with a longline cardigan over them. Oatmeal or heather gray goes on top. The ribbed midi below is rust or olive. Two tones and two lengths stretch the body more than a short cardigan could. On the feet, suede ankle boots. Ballet flats work just as well. Keep the necklace short, ending at the collarbone, so it stays clear of the open cardigan edges.

7. V neck sweater with tailored trousers outfit

A navy V-neck sweater, cream tailored trousers and beige loafers, against a plain studio background. Soft knit on top, sharp pressed line below — the contrast is the point.

The V shape does the flattering work here, opening up a full bust where a crew neck would close it off. Pick navy or forest green, lightweight. Tuck it into high-waisted trousers, front crease pressed. Soft knit, sharp line — the contrast carries the outfit. Pointed loafers finish the leg. Low kitten heels in a contrasting neutral do the same. A fine chain and a watch are the only jewellery. Lean forward first. If the V gapes, a fitted camisole underneath fixes it. Desk to dinner, no change needed.

8. Off the shoulder sweater with pencil skirt outfit

A black off-the-shoulder sweater, a taupe pencil skirt, nude pointed heels and a clutch, in a restaurant. Bare shoulders and collarbone on top, a fitted skirt below — the two halves balance each other.

The neckline makes or breaks this one. An elastic or ribbed edge holds it on the upper arm. Wear a strapless or convertible bra underneath. Tuck it fully into a knee-length pencil skirt. The fitted bottom then balances the soft top. Nude pointed heels lengthen the leg. A structured clutch and statement earrings finish the outfit. Skip the necklace — the bare collarbone takes centre stage.

9. Fair isle sweater with corduroy pants outfit

A Fair Isle sweater in burgundy, navy and cream, rust corduroy pants, a beige scarf and a brown crossbody, at a Christmas market.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A Fair Isle sweater in burgundy, navy and cream, rust corduroy pants, a beige scarf and a brown crossbody, at a Christmas market. A busy yoke needs a calm bottom half.

Burgundy, navy and cream make up the yoke. The cords are high-waisted and straight-leg, in cognac or caramel, echoing the yoke’s warmest thread. Knit ribs run one way, cord wales the other. Two textures, one rich mix, no clash. Suede ankle boots go on the feet. A wool scarf and a leather backpack round it out. Holiday markets and road trips suit it.

10. Mock neck sweater with leather leggings outfit

A black mock-neck sweater, black faux leather leggings, a long black coat, black heeled ankle boots and a black chain bag, on a city street.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A black mock-neck sweater, black faux leather leggings, a long black coat, black heeled ankle boots and a black chain bag, on a city street. One unbroken dark line from collar to ankle.

When a full turtleneck crowds the chin, a mock neck is the softer option. A fitted mock neck in black or charcoal tucks into slim faux leather leggings. One dark column runs from collar to ankle. A matte coated finish is the pick, on a ponte base. Shiny vinyl, by contrast, looks costume-like and squeaks. A long wool-blend coat goes over the top. Heeled ankle boots go on the feet. A chain-strap bag and studs finish it. It is built for dinner reservations and evenings that need height and edge.

11. Sweater vest with button down shirt outfit

A cream sweater vest over a white oversized oxford shirt, blue straight-leg jeans, brown loafers and a brown tote, indoors.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A cream sweater vest over a white oversized oxford shirt, blue straight-leg jeans, brown loafers and a brown tote, indoors. The shirt shows at the cuffs and the hem, which breaks the torso up.

A relaxed vest, not a shrunken one, is what makes this work on a curvy body. Cream or gray goes over an oversized white oxford. The shirt shows at the cuffs and hem, breaking up the torso. Tuck the shirt tails in. Straight-leg jeans or trousers go underneath. The bulk then stays above the waist. Loafers go on the feet. A slim belt sits at the waist. A structured tote in hand makes it office-ready. When the vest pulls across the bust, take the next size up. The armholes feel better that way, too.

12. Color block sweater with cargo pants outfit

A color-block sweater in cream, black and olive, olive cargo pants, a black beanie, white sneakers and a cream crossbody, on a city street.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A color-block sweater in cream, black and olive, olive cargo pants, a black beanie, white sneakers and a cream crossbody, on a city street. The sweater is loud, so everything else stays quiet.

Loud panels up top call for quiet trousers. Olive or black cargos, slim cut, with flat pockets. Bellowed thigh pockets add width in the wrong place. A small front tuck marks the waist. The pants sit comfortably on the hip. Chunky retro sneakers or lug boots keep it grounded. A beanie and a canvas crossbody push it into streetwear territory, while the sweater stays the star and everything else stays out of its way.

13. Striped sweater with white jeans outfit

A navy and cream striped sweater, white jeans, tan mules and a straw bag, on a patio.

A navy and cream striped sweater, white jeans, tan mules and a straw bag, on a patio. A classic Breton with medium-width stripes reads timeless rather than wide.

Stripes get blamed for widening, and mostly they do not deserve it. A navy and cream Breton, medium-width stripes, reads classic. Tucked loosely into high-rise white straight jeans, it looks its best. Skip very thick stripes. Avoid any stripe that pulls visibly across the bust. Tan mules or low espadrille wedges suit the feet. A straw bag sets the season: early fall or spring. Gold hoops finish it, with a red lip.

14. Wrap sweater with skater skirt outfit

A burgundy wrap sweater, a black skater skirt, sheer tights, black ankle-strap heels and a black mini bag, in a garden.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A burgundy wrap sweater, a black skater skirt, sheer tights, black ankle-strap heels and a black mini bag, in a garden. The crossover makes the waist, no hardware needed.

No belt, no buckle — the crossover does the waist work. Burgundy or blush knit wraps over a black skater skirt. The hem ends just past the knee. Fit-and-flare shape, classic and simple. Mind the wrap’s depth on a full bust. If the crossover opens too low, a safety pin inside or a camisole fixes it. Sheer tights go underneath. Ankle-strap heels or ballet flats go on the feet. A delicate pendant hangs at the neck. A mini top-handle bag finishes the outfit. Baby showers and tea dates suit it best.

15. Oversized sweater with biker shorts outfit

A light grey oversized crewneck, black biker shorts, white crew socks, white sneakers, a black cap and a black belt bag, on a city street.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A light grey oversized crewneck, black biker shorts, white crew socks, white sneakers, a black cap and a black belt bag, on a city street. A long knit over barely-visible shorts, for warm afternoons that start cold.

A lightweight cotton crewneck falls to mid-thigh. The shorts barely show, and the leg looks long. Pick shorts with a wide waistband. The inseam must be long enough to stay put when you walk. Thigh chafing is the real problem here. Chunky white crew socks and leather sneakers go on the feet. Worn crossbody, a cap and a belt bag set the tone. Very 90s. Coffee runs, yes. The office, no.

16. Crewneck sweater with joggers outfit

A grey crewneck and jogger set, an olive quilted vest, white slides, a rolling suitcase and a grey tote, in an airport terminal.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A grey crewneck and jogger set, an olive quilted vest, white slides, a rolling suitcase and a grey tote, in an airport terminal. Matching top and bottom, with one crisp piece to keep it from reading as loungewear.

The taper is what makes a matching set look deliberate. Heathered gray or sage, crewneck and joggers in the same tone, only works when the joggers narrow toward the ankle — straight sweatpants turn the whole set into loungewear. French terry keeps its shape better than fleece. It pills less at the inner thigh, too. Sock sneakers or plush slides go on the feet. A quilted vest or puffer handles the cold, and a structured nylon tote adds the one crisp edge. It is the pick for travel days.

17. Sweater with maxi skirt outfit

A cream fine-knit sweater, a champagne satin maxi skirt, a gold belt and strappy heels, in a garden.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A cream fine-knit sweater, a champagne satin maxi skirt, a gold belt and strappy heels, in a garden. Ivory up top, satin sweeping the ankles — graceful on a curvy frame.

The pairing makes it graceful: a fine knit, semi-fitted, goes into a high-waisted maxi skirt. The pairing is graceful. Ivory or soft blush goes on top. Satin or jersey sweeps the ankles below, soft and long. Satin shows every tuck line. Wear a very thin sweater with it. Save thicker knits for jersey. Flat strappy sandals suit the feet. Low block-heel mules do the same. A slim belt and drop earrings complete it for a garden party or a rooftop dinner. If long skirts are your thing, our plus size maxi dress outfit ideas have more in the same spirit.

18. Tunic sweater with fleece leggings outfit

A dark grey tunic sweater, black fleece leggings, grey socks, black snow boots, a black puffer coat, a beanie and a scarf, on a snowy street with a dog.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A dark grey tunic sweater, black fleece leggings, grey socks, black snow boots, a black puffer coat, a beanie and a scarf, on a snowy street with a dog. Some mornings warmth wins, and this is the outfit for those mornings.

The tunic is long and heavy-knit, covering hips and upper thighs. Over fleece-lined black leggings, it nearly hides them. Roll thick crew socks up over the cuffs — no drafts get in. Quilted snow boots or puffer booties go on the feet. A long puffer goes over the top. A chunky scarf and a beanie go on last. The coat must be longer than the tunic. Otherwise the sweater hem pokes out and breaks the line.

19. Pullover sweater with denim skirt outfit

A rust pullover, a denim button-front midi skirt, brown knee-high boots and a brown crossbody, on an autumn street.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A rust pullover, a denim button-front midi skirt, brown knee-high boots and a brown crossbody, on an autumn street. Rust against stiff denim, with a 70s feel from the boots.

A stiffer denim midi holds its A-line instead of clinging. Rust or mustard pullovers look best against it. Half-tuck the knit. Let the button placket show. Brown knee-high boots set the 70s mood. Western ankle booties do the same. A fitted denim jacket handles the chill. A cropped corduroy jacket does the same. Sit down in the skirt before you buy it. Front buttons can gape at the thigh on a midi. A hidden snap solves it. So does a safety pin.

20. Sweater with satin midi skirt outfit

A cream chunky sweater, a mauve satin midi skirt, a cream clutch and nude pointed pumps, indoors.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A cream chunky sweater, a mauve satin midi skirt, a cream clutch and nude pointed pumps, indoors. Matte knit against shining satin — the texture contrast is what makes the outfit work for evening.

Evening is where this texture trick shines: the matte sweater makes the satin’s shine look richer. Ecru or oat goes on top. Below, a champagne or mauve satin midi, tucked loosely. The knit must not drag the skirt down. Satin is unforgiving over a thick waistband. Pick an elastic-back skirt, loose tuck. Strappy heeled sandals or pointed pumps suit the feet. A delicate bracelet goes on the wrist. Pearl studs and a soft clutch finish it. Bridal showers and anniversary dinners suit it. For more midi-length ideas, our plus size midi dress outfit ideas have twenty-five in the same easy spirit.

21. Cropped cardigan with wide leg jeans outfit

Source: Sew Mama Sew

A lilac cropped cardigan over a matching tank, light-wash wide-leg jeans, white platform sneakers and a raffia tote, at an outdoor café. The cardigan ends at the high waist and marks it for you.

A buttoned cropped cardigan ending at the high waist marks the waist without needing a belt. The cardigan comes in pale pink or lilac. Underneath, a fitted ribbed tank. The jeans are light-wash, high-rise and wide-leg, hemmed long. Check the button spacing on a fuller bust first. Button gaps are the first fit problem here. White platform sneakers or chunky flat sandals suit the feet. A raffia tote keeps the mood light. Spring and early fall picnics suit it.

22. Turtleneck sweater dress with knee high boots outfit

A black ribbed turtleneck sweater dress, a taupe wool coat, black knee-high boots and a black crossbody, in a mirror selfie indoors.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A black ribbed turtleneck sweater dress, a taupe wool coat, black knee-high boots and a black crossbody, in a mirror selfie indoors. Dense rib, a hem a few inches below the knee, and boots that tuck under it.

With a ribbed turtleneck dress, fabric weight beats colour. It shows a lot of shape. Pick a dense rib in espresso or black. It falls a few inches below the knee. A thin rib shows too much underneath. Tall boots disappear under the hem. Leather or suede — either works. They lengthen the frame. A long pendant breaks up the chest. A sleek crossbody keeps the hands free. A wool wrap coat goes on over everything. Smoothing shorts underneath help a lot.

23. Sweater blazer with straight leg jeans outfit

A charcoal sweater blazer, a white tank, dark straight-leg jeans, black pointed flats and a black tote, against a plain studio background.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A charcoal sweater blazer, a white tank, dark straight-leg jeans, black pointed flats and a black tote, against a plain studio background. Jacket shape, no shoulder stiffness.

Structured blazers pull across the back — a sweater blazer does not. The blazer is charcoal or heather beige. Under it, a plain white or black tank. Dark straight-leg jeans go below. Roll each hem once so the ankle shows. Pointed flats or low block heels suit the feet. A structured leather tote and gold studs finish the outfit. Client meetings and relaxed office days suit it.

24. Knit sweater with pleated mini skirt outfit

A black crewneck, an emerald pleated mini skirt, black tights, black knee-high boots and a black mini satchel, indoors.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A black crewneck, an emerald pleated mini skirt, black tights, black knee-high boots and a black mini satchel, indoors. Preppy, grown-up, and held together by the pleats.

The mood here is preppy. Up top, a fitted crewneck in black or cream. It tucks into an emerald or sapphire pleated mini. Opaque tights go underneath. Knee-high flat boots or chunky loafers finish the feet. The pleats must be pressed. They fall from a flat yoke, not from the waistband. Pleats starting at the waistband flare over the stomach. Sit down and check the length. On a curvy seat, minis ride up more. A slim headband and a mini satchel finish it. The feel is grown-up schoolgirl, made for casual holiday gatherings.

25. Cowl neck sweater with coated jeans outfit

A taupe cowl-neck sweater, black coated skinny jeans, black heeled ankle boots and a black quilted chain bag, on a city street.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A taupe cowl-neck sweater, black coated skinny jeans, black heeled ankle boots and a black quilted chain bag, on a city street. Soft drape at the face against a slight wax sheen below.

A cowl drapes softly at the face. That flatters round faces and full busts alike. Rust or taupe goes with black coated skinny jeans. Drape and slight wax sheen balance each other out. Coated denim stretches less than regular denim, so size up if you are between sizes. Pointed heeled ankle boots suit the feet. A quilted chain bag goes over the shoulder. Studs and a watch are the only jewellery. Errands to drinks, no change needed.

26. Sweater with quilted vest and jeans outfit

A cream crewneck, an olive quilted vest, blue boyfriend jeans, brown ankle boots, a plaid blanket scarf and a tan crossbody, in an apple orchard.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A cream crewneck, an olive quilted vest, blue boyfriend jeans, brown ankle boots, a plaid blanket scarf and a tan crossbody, in an apple orchard. Layers you can take off one by one as the autumn day warms up.

Begin with a light ivory or gray crewneck. Add an olive or navy quilted vest. It stops at the hip, not the waist. Keep the vest hip-length: a short one cuts the torso in half. Medium-wash straight or boyfriend jeans go below. Lug-sole Chelsea boots set the outdoorsy mood. A cozy blanket scarf, looped once, goes around the neck. A tan leather crossbody finishes the look. Cider mills and farmers markets suit it.

27. Boho sweater with flare jeans outfit

A cream open-knit boho sweater with bell sleeves, blue flare jeans, a wide leather belt with a big buckle and a brown fringe bag, in a desert with a cactus.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A cream open-knit boho sweater with bell sleeves, blue flare jeans, a wide leather belt with a big buckle and a brown fringe bag, in a desert with a cactus. Volume at the arms, volume at the hem, and a belt marking the waist between the two.

Bell sleeves and open knits bring volume at the arms. The jeans balance that at the hem. High-rise flares or bootcuts graze the floor. A wide leather belt, interesting buckle, marks the waist. Hem the flares for the shoes you will actually wear. Suede platform clogs or stacked-heel boots keep the denim off the ground. Long pendants hang at the neck. A slouchy tan hobo bag goes over the shoulder. An art walk suits it, and so does an ordinary Tuesday with a 70s mood.

28. Sweater with faux leather pants outfit

A cream crewneck, black faux leather pants, black pointed boots and a black structured bag, on a city night street.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A cream crewneck, black faux leather pants, black pointed boots and a black structured bag, on a city night street. Soft knit cooling down the shine of the pants.

For faux leather, a straight leg is the friendlier cut. Less intimidating than a skinny one. Tuck the slouchy crewneck, off-white or camel, just at the front. The soft knit cools down the shine of the pants. Inspect the inner thigh seam before buying. Cheap coatings are the first to crack there, after a few months. Pointed black heeled boots suit the feet. A structured bag with gold hardware rounds it out. A bold lip and gold hoops complete it. Evenings out with friends suit it — concerts included.

29. Ribbed knit sweater with linen pants outfit

A sage short-sleeve ribbed knit, white wide-leg linen pants, brown leather slides, a woven tote and sunglasses, outdoors.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A sage short-sleeve ribbed knit, white wide-leg linen pants, brown leather slides, a woven tote and sunglasses, outdoors. The lightest sweater outfit in the list, made for the in-between weeks.

The in-between weeks call for the lightest knit here. Short sleeves or three-quarter length, ribbed, in sand or sage. White or stone linen-blend trousers go below, high-waisted. Linen wrinkles. Mix in viscose or cotton and the creases ease off. Leather slides or woven flats suit the feet. A canvas tote, a pendant and sunglasses complete it. Coffee first, then a warm afternoon walk.

30. Sweater with overall dress outfit

A black ribbed turtleneck under a denim overall dress, black tights, chunky platform loafers and a black mini backpack, on a city street.
Source: Sew Mama Sew

A black ribbed turtleneck under a denim overall dress, black tights, chunky platform loafers and a black mini backpack, on a city street. Structured denim with adjustable straps, and a thin knit underneath for coverage without bulk.

Pick a structured denim or corduroy overall dress. Adjustable straps matter, and so does shape at the side seams. Otherwise, they fall straight down a curvy body from the bust. Underneath, a thin ribbed knit in black or cream. It gives coverage without bulk under the bib. Opaque tights go underneath. Chunky platform loafers or combat boots suit the feet. A mini backpack and colorful studs finish a playful look for weekend brunch or a museum day.

Thirty sweaters, and a few simple ideas run through all of them: keep the bottom narrower when the top has volume, mark the waist in whatever way feels comfortable, and let texture do more of the work than pattern. A first plus-size sweater wardrobe needs only two knits. A fine-gauge turtleneck and a longline cardigan will do. The bottoms can come from the closet you already own. Take a sweater you love off its shelf this week and wear it with something it has never met before. For the days that call for a one-piece instead, our plus size jumpsuit outfit ideas have more in the same easy spirit.

Pro Tips

  1. Check four spots in the mirror before you buy. Shoulder seam, bust, hem and sleeve length matter more than the label. Knit sizing varies a lot between makers. If the sweater pulls at any of those four points, it is the wrong one — try the next size before you try to style around it.
  2. Let the knit weight set the outfit. Thin knits tuck neatly and slide under a coat, so they suit tailored trousers, satin skirts and office looks. A chunky knit brings width with it. Let it lead, and keep the rest plain: narrow jeans, plain leggings, one belt.
  3. Read the fibre label before the price tag. Where a knit rubs — inner arms, under the bust — is where it wears out first on a curvy body, and that wear shows up fast. The tag inside the side seam tells you more than the price does, so check what the yarn is made of before you fall for the colour.
  4. Store heavy knits folded, never on a hanger. Hanging pulls the shoulders into points and stretches the body longer, and no amount of steaming puts that right. Fold chunky knits and sweater dresses away. Drawers or shelves work; heaviest at the bottom. Wash by hand or on a cool wool cycle. Squeeze the water out in a towel, never wring, and dry flat. Give each sweater a day off between wears so the fibres bounce back, and tuck cedar blocks into the drawer to keep moths away from wool and cashmere through the summer.
  5. Put the waist where it feels comfortable. A front tuck, a belt, a wrap crossover, a cropped cardigan ending at the high waist — every look above marks the waist differently, and the right one is the one you will actually wear. When the waist is marked, the rest of the outfit can stay simple and the proportions take care of themselves.
